Langport’s Independent, Family Funeral Directors

Funeral Services

Philip and Karen are dedicated to serving you in your time of need. We will support you during your bereavement by ensuring that the necessary arrangements are carried out for you smoothly and with sensitivity so that you do not need to worry about the practicalities, rest assured that you are in the hands of a fully accredited member of SAIF— the Association of Independent Funeral Directors.

Our bespoke funeral costs include removal of the deceased to our Chapel of Rest and the use thereof; provision of a hearse, pall bearers and funeral director on the day of the funeral; and all items of our personal and professional services.

All other fees and disbursements will be paid on your behalf, dependent on your requirements. This can include burial or cremation fees, doctors’ fees, ministers’ and church fees, floral tributes, newspaper notices, order of service sheets, catering and monumental masonry.

Our service does not only cover the local area. We can carry out funeral arrangements anywhere in the UK and we are also experienced in repatriations from overseas.

We are available whenever you need us: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year and are always ready to assist you in your time of need. We are only a phone call away.

Your funeral arrangements, your choice

Of course, we must comply with the laws of the land, and regulations and guidelines of our professional body SAIF, but many of the decisions which you will make will be your own personal choice to ensure that your loved one’s funeral is personal to you. The following is a list of things which you might like to consider, and we will of course be able to guide you through your choices.

We have our own intimate Chapel, which seats a maximum of 20 people, where you can have a small private service tailored to your wishes at a time to suit you and your family, including weekends or early evenings. Your service can be religious, non-denominational, humanist – whatever suits you, and can take place either before or after the burial or cremation.

Because we are independent, we are not tied to any particular way of working. There is no wrong or right funeral – there is the funeral which you choose for your loved one, and we are able to guide you to make the best possible choices for you and your family.

Whether it be burial or cremation, woodland burial, traditional church service or a small intimate service in our private chapel, we will guide you through the whole process.
